This blog will help you to find an answer to these questions. There are several places near our faculty where you can spot some hot Dutch guys and girls.
And finally, what are the differences between dating the Dutch or foreigners?
I will only narrate those that immediately come to my mind as I go along.
A Dutch guy I met at a barber shop once had this to say on the subject of a Dutch Treat and dating, “ If the date is going well I do not mind paying the entire bill. If it is not going well, I will make sure she pays half. I will not spend my money on a bad date.” What immediately came to my mind was that this man was a cheapskate and clearly lacks a romantic bone in him.
Women have fought long and hard to be treated fairly in all aspects of Dutch life and it seems to have made its way down to the dating scene; "Going Dutch" was started here.
As far as I've seen, this isn't the case in The Netherlands in general.
International differences in dating people Now you have visited these bars and used this dating application, as a foreigner you probably have noticed that there are some differences between the Dutch people and people from other cities in the world. Once you have tackled these problems and found a date, the difficult part starts: What to wear when you have a date with a Dutchie? The Dutch motto “If you just behave normally, you are already weird enough” (“Doe maar normaal, dan doe je al gek genoeg”) is there for a reason. So, if the Dutch did not scare you and you are still in for a date with someone, what are you waiting for? And do not forget to post your dating stories or questions about dating beneath this blogpost!
I can already hear my Mum telling me to "never say never" but since living in Amsterdam I've come to the conclusion that Dutch men just aren't my thing.
However, I later realized that this is not very strange in the Netherlands.
Even if a supposedly romantic evening is going well it is not unheard of for both parties to share the bill.
