Daniel Wischnewski – Basically, this is a note to myself, but it may help you anyway. Creating a little more complex query today, I got the error message "Insufficient key column information for updating or refreshing" when trying to apply changes to the data set. I have a project that is linked to SQL Server 2000, in which I have constructed a view of two linked tables. They have the same PK in a one-to-one relationship. When I perform an identical update from SQL Server 2000, the change is successful. An attempt was made to delete or update a record in a parent table of a referential integrity constraint with the RESTRICT option, and there was a matching record in the child table of the integrity constraint.RESTRICT is a default property of a referential integrity constraint, the other being ON DELETE CASCADE, where the dependent rows in the child tables are deleted if corresponding rows in the parent table are deleted.
